Grantmaking

The Women’s Fund of Southeastern MA has an active grantmaking program in support of our mission to fund programs that promote the educational and economic advancement of women and girls in our area.  (for more details, click the headings)

Action Awards – these are small grants (maximum award of $5,000 to any one organization in a year).  Grant applications will be reviewed in June, 2010.

Collaborative Projects - The Women’s Fund is providing funding support to the following programs in a partnership that includes the ongoing active involvement of the Fund.

  • WISE (Working in Successful Environments) Women – a Bristol Community College program, is a collaborative initiative supported by the Massachusetts Community College Executive Office, The Women’s Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts, and the Department of Transitional Assistance. Young women receive the necessary skills to secure employment and continue their education.

  • Girls E!xclusive – an after-school program for middle school girls sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of New Bedford, the YWCA and the YMCA

  • Attired 2B Hired - a partnership with Family and Children Services to help women entering the workplace.  This program provides outfits, haircuts, manicures and interview tips to women applying for jobs.

Womens’ Philanthropy Initiative - serves donors who wish to leverage their charitable giving by donating through the Women’s Fund, rather than making an individual contribution.

Giving Circles – a group of affiliated women donors who pool their funds and select a recipient charity.  These grants are matched by the Women’s Fund up to $500 annually.
