The Women's Fund of the Community Foundation of Southeastern MA, established in 2001, supports programs that develop, promote and protect the mind, body, spirit and choices of women and girls. We are passionate about improving the quality of life for women and girls in our region. We know that women in Southeastern MA, like women across the world, deserve equal opportunties in the workplace, in the classroom and in their communities. We envision a level playing field and take a proactive stance to bring it about.

Lara Stone, MBA, joined our staff as the Development Officer of the Women’s Fund in May 2010.

Lara’s focus is to raise resources for regional programs that promote the educational and economic advancement of women and girls. Having worked directly at or consulted to community-based organizations and educational entities for over 17 years, she brings to the Women’s Fund her expertise in fundraising, marketing and developing successful partnerships. Lara was the former Assistant Director of the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board, Inc., a public-private partnership focused on ensuring employers have access to a skilled and educated workforce. She is the sole female member of the five member Dartmouth Select Board and lives there with her husband and their three boys
